Skálmöld´s second record is Börn Loka (The children of Loki) and was released in 2012. As with the first record, Axel „Flex“ Árnason supervised the technical- and recording administration. The subject of the record is characterised by ethnical style, the scene is ancient Iceland, Vikings and other northern myths. The songs tell a story of Hilmar, a vagrant that gets the challenge to fight the children of Loki, Fenrisúlfur, Miðgarðsormur and Hel (The woman on the cover). The listener follows heroic battles with joy, sorrow and great victories. Snæbjörn Ragnarsson, the band´s bassist, wrote the lyrics, but he is very good with Icelandic metrics. The record has strong Icelandic roots and is performed with massive strength and persuasion by the band´s members.
The songs on the record are :
- Himinhrjóður (a song without lyrics)
